YOGA Zenith

Yoga Zenith was founded by Huong Nguyen < Honey > in 2013.

Hold a degree in Economics & Master of Applied Finance, Huong Nguyen < Honey > is a Registered Teacher with both Yoga Australia & Yoga Alliance International. She is also a Holistic Meditation Teacher, Fitness Australia Registered Exercise Professional & Australian Sport Commission Registered Coach.

Born & raised in Hanoi, Vietnam now called Perth home; as a Buddhist, yoga has played an important part in Honey's up-growing. Honey's first official Yoga exeperience was back in September 1997 and since; through different practices, her love & passion for yoga has grown bigger; Yoga has become part of her daily routines.

Honey specialises in teaching hatha, vinyasa flow and restorative yoga styles. She often incorporates elements of Qigong (Chi Gung) Yoga into her classes, focusing on breath, energy and balance as well as holistic meditation guidances.

Honey finds great delight and satisfaction in helping others to ‘find’ their own yoga practice.

WHY YOGA?

Yoga means ‘union’. It is the uniting of mind, body, and spirit, and through this we are to connect in a more meaningful way with the world we are in, and the people around us. Yoga has been benefiting people around the globe for over 5000 years, and may be practiced by anyone, regardless of age, gender, or physical ability.
Here are just a few of the many benefits of yoga:

Increased flexibility and strength, and improved muscle tone, helping to carve a leaner, more confident body
Improved posture, balance, and coordination
Easier pregnancy and childbirth
Help with weight loss
Pain reduction and prevention (e.g. back pain and headaches)
Improved digestion
Increased immunity
Improved cardiovascular function
Improved endocrine (hormone) function
Improved breathing
Calming of the nervous system and mind
Reduced stress and happier mood
Increased energy and sense of wellbeing

WHICH STYLE IS FOR ME?

1/Private yoga: Perfect for those new to yoga to build a solid foundation of yoga practice, and equally so for seasoned practitioners to provide an opportunity to really explore your practice and try certain poses away from a class setting. Private sessions are specifically tailored to the needs of the individual or group taking the sessions.

2/Combined private yoga and nutrition: This includes both a private yoga class and nutritional counselling. This combined, holistic approach to improving health can provide amazing results!

3/Basics: These classes focus on the foundations of the yoga poses, with extra attention given to alignment. Basics classes are perfect for yoga ‘newbies’ to set up a strong foundation for years to come, or for more regular yogis who would like a class with less intensity.

4/Vinyasa: This dynamic style has an emphasis on strength and flexibility. It is sometimes called Flow Yoga due to the linking of poses with the breath so that the practice of yoga becomes like a dance.

5/Hatha: Although Hatha yoga describes any physical practice of yoga, hatha yoga classes are gentle, basic classes that are slower in pace, and may also offer relaxation techniques and breathing exercises.

6/Relax & unwind: These slow, calming classes focus on encouraging deep relaxation and release of muscle and connective tissue through the holding of poses, sometimes up to a few minutes, to restore alignment of body and mind.

7/Prenatal yoga: Yoga is an ideal form of exercise during pregnancy. These classes cater for the changes that occur during this special time. Classes are designed to prepare women for the birthing process, and are also a great way to connect with other pregnant women. For useful pregnancy resources click head to http://www.pregnancy.com.au/

8/Postnatal/Mums & Bubs yoga: Classes are specifically designed for getting post-partum bodies back into shape, with care given to only include poses that are suitable and safe. Women can attend solo for some ‘time-out’ or are welcome to bring their baby (please bring a blanket for your baby to lie on). It is recommended that new mums wait four to six weeks after a vaginal birth, and eight weeks after a caesarean birth before commencing Post-natal yoga. Should you wish to register interest and receive updates on upcoming Mums & Bubs meetups, please contact Honey & team.

9/Aqua Yoga: Aqua Yoga is a fun and effective practice that adapts traditional Yoga postures to an aquatic environment. From a physical standpoint, practicing asanas (poses or postures) in the water causes less stress on the joints and provides a feeling of success by allowing students to experience postures they may be unable to achieve on land. However, in some postures, the resistance of the water creates more opportunity to build strength. The aqua environment may allow students to achieve a greater range of motion, increasing muscle flexibility. From a mind-body standpoint, water is very comforting and nurturing, which enhances relaxation and readies our minds for a deeper meditative experience.Yoga has been linked to decreased stress, heart rate, blood pressure, fatigue and depression – and a lower risk of all the diseases that accompany these risk factors. Many Yogis find better sleep, more confidence, a more positive outlook on life, improved moods, and fewer addictive behaviors than they experienced prior to engaging in Yoga.

Aqua environments are calming and inviting. There is a natural serenity associated with water, and this improves the mind-body connection and readies the mind for a more peaceful, meaningful meditation. Final Savasana (corpse pose) and breathing in Mountain Pose are extremely nurturing in the tranquility of the water.
